Over 40% of employees would lie on their CV if they thought they could get away with it, according to research by Experian.

Employers should thoroughly check applicants CVs, as 66% of respondents do not believe they do so. Over 80% of respondents said it would act as a deterrent if they knew employers didn't take the information at face value.

Likely types of 'CV fraud' include salary, level of previous experience and educational qualifications.
